I was reading an article a few weeks ago proposing that marriage laws be changed to allow couples to marry anywhere. Current UK laws mean that couples must marry in a registry office, place of worship, or a licensed venue - but of course with Covid-19 restrictions in place, a change to the law might be due. This got me thinking, if you could pick anywhere in Yorkshire to get married, what would be the most epic and stunning location?

It hit me immediately. Malham Cove. The images would look breathtaking - a wedding photographer's dream.

Malham Cove, part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, was formed by a waterfall carrying meltwater from glaciers at the end of the last Ice Age more than 12,000 years ago- the vertical face of the cliff is about 260 feet high.

Seen as it has been a rather quiet summer, thanks for that 2020, I decided to get some friends from the wedding industry on board and make it happen. My inspiration for the shoot was "what if Cathy & Heathcliff from Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights were 21st-century characters and ran off to elope". Coming from Bronte country, and with my background in the arts, such a theme was always going to appeal to me - and I think you'll agree, Harley & David fit the bill perfectly. Where would you get married if you could pick any location?

Planning on eloping with the one you love? Interested in a Yorkshire Dales wedding photographer? I'd love to hear all about your plans - drop me a message here.
