The House is ideal for small, intimate gatherings with up to 30 guests. Up to 77 guests can be accommodated for a wedding breakfast and a few more for an evening reception in the Chapel. A ceremony can be hosted for up to 85 people.

The Barn at Barden hosts up to 20 and is located on the same site as The Priests House. Perfect so you can enjoy your evening without having to worry about driving home.

If you're looking for a wedding venue that oozes charm and character, The Priests House might be the perfect choice for you.

The Priests House & Old Chapel is located in the shadow of the ruins of Barden Tower, a Grade 1 listed building with stunning views of the surrounding North Yorkshire countryside. Both the House and the Chapel have a rich history and charm. In addition to the dark oak beamed ceilings, paned windows, and real log fires in the House, a newly remodeled Chapel has large airy windows, chandeliers, and a great entrance. There is a special aura in this place as soon as you step inside.

The day can be as simple as a ceremony and photos, can include a delicious wedding breakfast, or it can last the entire day, including an evening reception.

A Romantic, Intimate wedding in the Exclusive Priest’s House chapel

ey up!

I'm Sam, and I love that I get to work as a wedding photographer at The Priests House on a regular basis.

My relaxed and natural style of photography suits The Priests House perfectly, and the intimate weddings that they host. They love having me work with them. They're words, not mine.

my approach

Real People, real weddings, real memories.

Wedding Photography is about more then just taking pictures, it's about capturing the moments in between the moments. Capturing memories that tell the story of a wedding day

My ethos is that your wedding photographer should not dominate your wedding day. Most couples don't want to spend hours posing for photographs, instead preferring to enjoy your day and spend the time with their family and guests.

Your wedding day is about you, not the photographer. I capture weddings it in an honest way, telling the story of your wedding day through natural storytelling images. No awkward posing, no hours spent on group shots, just images that remind you of what your wedding day felt like.

Priests house wedding photographs

I've had the pleasure of being a Priests House wedding photographer on a number of occasions, it really is the perfect venue for wedding photographs. The big windows wash the chapel with the most gorgeous light. You've got the old ruins of Barden Tower which make a perfect background for wedding portraits. And there's gorgeous countryside all around. Here are some of the couples I've had the pleasure of sharing their special day with.

kind words from Tam & Adam

“Sam is incredibly friendly and a likeable guy who clearly knows what he's doing. We both hate having pictures taken, even when we do so ourselves and yet Sam made it fun. Our photos look absolutely incredible and we both enjoyed having our photos taken because of how effortless he made the experience.”
